Jan 18, 2010 held at the Ukrainian National Hall downtown Hafford

January 21st, Redberry lake Biosphere Reserve 10th anniversary wine and cheese reception at the Seniors Center, Main and 1st Ave West Hafford.  Cocktails start at 6:30pm, short program at 7:15.

This is a general meeting and everyone is welcome to attend.  Bring your ideas and thoughts for forming a Friends of the Biosphere membership Committee.  We would like to see you at the meeting.

The Redberry Lake AEGP will be hosting the next meeting at Redberry Lake Biosphere Reserve Research and Education Centre Redberry Lake.  The producers meet and discuss topics of mutual interest or concern in raising livestock.

Time: 1:30 pm

ORGANIZING MEETING FOR A GRAZING/FORAGE CLUB

 The Redberry Lake AEGP will be hosting a meeting to see if there is interest in starting a grazing/ forage club in the Redberry Lake Watershed AEGP area. The reason for such a club will be for producers to meet and discuss topics of mutual interest or concern in raising livestock.

 Meeting Date: Monday, Feb. 9th

Time: 1:30 pm

Please bring any ideas as to how you think such a club should look like.

July 1st

Kids  Day at the Research and Education Centre kicks off the summer, Amy has planned many activities for the youth to participate in.  She will be implementing the educational modules that were developed by Shannon Fraser along with some additional activities she has researched this spring.  Kids Day will be held every Tuesday and selected Sundays through out the summer - call 306-549-4060 for more information.

 

Also on July 1st Hafford is holding a Canada Day celebration with a slow pitch ball tournament, various games for the younger youth, concession booth and beer gardens.

Research and Education Centre hosted the Advanced Range Health Assessment and Planning put on by the Saskatchewan Watershed Authority.  Additional sponsors were Agricultural and Agri-food Canada; Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture; Ducks Unlimited Canada; Redberry Lake Watershed Agri-Environmental Group Plan.

Redberry Lake Concession Opens. 

 

Canadian Commission for UNESCO

2:00 pm

150+ members of the CCU came out and enjoyed an afternoon at Redberry Lake Research and Education Centre.  Philip Taylor lead each group on a wildlife walk and talk to the beach, and Michael Finley Lead each group on a flora and fauna walk and talk.  The groups rotated through the Centre as well to look at the awesome displays including the traveling art display put together by Christine Watson.  For more information on this display go to ART.

The CCU finished the day at the Hafford Communiplex with presentations and supper by the Hafford Catering Committee.
