Snow shoeing, campfire with smokies and a winter quiz
Is there a better way to spend a not too cold, calm and a little snowy Saturday morning?
Most of the families haven’t tried snow shoeing before and they all had fun exploring the winter wonderland around Redberry Lake with their big metal feet. We started off at the Research and Education Center through shrubs and trees, seeing activities of squirrels, porcupines, beavers, birds, deer, coyotes and many more. Our roundtrip led us back along the Redberry Lake shoreline and the cabins to an already smoking fire pit. Hmmm, hot chocolate and a smokie on a bun (or two)! Back at the Research and Education Center a winter quiz was set up and winners were drawn.
Join us on Saturday, December 8, for another fun day of snow shoeing!
We thank SOEEA (Saskatchewan Outdoor and Environmental Education Association) and SaskLotteries for their financial support and Fort Battleford for renting us out their snow shoes.
